Datasheet

What this dataset contains, how it was made, how complete it is, and what it will not do — so you can judge it without reading it.

What it is

SubjectCredit against bitcoin collateral, across every venue class we can observe. The headline figures count loans made in US dollars; loans in euros, francs, yen, ether and bitcoin itself are carried as separate books, by currency, and never added to them.
Unit of observationA venue. Each is described by the same criteria whatever its class.
Classes coveredOn-chain protocols (pooled, isolated, CDP), auction venues, CeFi desks, the corporate layer, brokers, derivatives.
CriteriaThree pillars — Price, Quality, Composition — published and versioned before any venue was measured against them. Methodology.
Per-cell provenanceEvery criterion value carries the kind of source it came from, the source, and an as-of date.

How complete it is

Venues in the registry135
Publishing figures102 of 135 venues publish at least one figure — a price, a collateral reading or a book. Counted from the figures, not from a venue's status.
Criteria researched95 venues are researched in full, and 95 of them have a value written in all 10 cells. 85 have 9 of 10 established and 7 have 8. Book depth — distinct counterparties and concentration — is the cell almost no venue can establish: it reads unknown (reason), a gap in this dataset rather than in the venue. Where a second cell is missing it is track record, on failed and derivative venues never observed trading. 40 further venues are listed: below the research floor, published but not researched (11 of them were researched before the floor was drawn, and keep their cells).
Contributing to the surface85 of 128 venues (66.4%). The 128 are the registry's bitcoin-scope venues that are not defunct or retired; the 7 outside are BlockFi (defunct), Celsius Network (defunct), Cred (defunct), Genesis Global Capital (defunct), Hodlnaut (defunct), Vauld (defunct), Voyager Digital (defunct).

Limitations, stated plainly

What it refuses to do

No composite score. No ranking. No default ordering by rate. No safety verdict on any venue. None of these will be added — they are not missing features. A reader weighs the criteria; this dataset does not weigh them for the reader, and a single number would make it a benchmark rather than a description.

Re-use

The licence is drafted and with counsel — see Legal. Until it is published, no licence is asserted and none is implied. There is deliberately no machine-readable license field in this page's structured data either: asserting one in schema before publishing it would be publishing it.
