Methodology descriptive · CX1 Q2c
What it measures. The bitcoin held by the issuers in the registry, from their filings, as a share of all spendable bitcoin.
Read with care. It moves in steps at filing dates, on the totals the filings state. Purchases filed between those totals are shown separately, on each issuer's page, as derived points, and are not counted here. Holdings are not collateral: there is no lien, so it is shown apart from the secured market.
Sample. One credit cycle, from 2022-09-19, so it is observational. A descriptive series: not an index, not a forecast and not a signal. Every published version is kept and can be read as known on any date (as_known_on).

What this cannot be read as
Holdings of the issuers in the registry, from their filings: the series moves in steps at filing dates, and purchases between filings are not read. Holdings are not collateral: no lien. Supply is spendable supply at the end of the snapshot's UTC day (chain.cohort.supply_btc): OP_RETURN outputs, the genesis coinbase and the two BIP30-overwritten coinbases are excluded, so it sits a little below issued supply. Observational: one credit cycle, from 2022-09-19.
