Methodology descriptive
What it measures. Our own daily price of ether, read on chain from the pools where WETH trades against dollar stablecoins on Ethereum and Base: the median across pools, each read directly. WETH is redeemable one for one for ETH by its contract.
Basket dollars. Priced in a basket of dollar stablecoins, not in fiat dollars; the two differ by basis points.
Why not a market data feed. Every value is computed from public chain data on our own reads, so it carries no third-party licence.
Sample. From 2020-05-25, the first day the on-chain pools are deep enough to read.
